ALE Hybrid flexo systems combine the high power of Co2 laser technology with the finer spot size available from 1micron wavelength fibre laser technology. This combination gives high processing speeds and superior engraving and print quality when compared to Co2 only systems. ALE Hybrid flexo systems engrave the print detail with the highly focused fibre laser while the Co2 focused beams concentrate on removing the bulk of material to the desired plate relief/base.

The 1 micron wavelength has been used for imaging the black carbon layer, (LAM layer/mask ablation layer), on photopolymer digital plates for some years,  recent advances in fibre laser technology now give us high power and excellent beam quality we can use for direct laser engraving.

(* Hybrid flexo systems are only suitable for engraving black materials, contact ALE for details regarding suitable materials)


 

 

 

    ALE Hybrid flexo systems are available with up to 3 Co2 lasers, (3 x 600watt semi-sealed or 3 x 300 watt sealed), the fibre laser and ALE beam delivery head is available as a 200 watt, single or multi-beam, (up to 4 beams). Hybrid systems can be purchased with a single fibre and Co2 source, the system can be upgraded with more lasers in the field.   * For Hybrid machine size options refer to Meridian machine size chart or contact ALE to discuss further technical details

    Although designed for direct engraving these systems can be used to image the carbon layer, (mask ablation), for digital photopolymer sleeves and plates.(*vacuum drum not supplied as standard).
